What is 2-Step verification?

2-Step verification is a more secure method for allowing access to computer systems. It requires two steps (or two forms of identification) to gain access. The first step is your typical User ID and password and the second either a passcode generated by your smart phone or other device.

Why implement 2-Step verification?

Implementation of 2-Step verification is needed to increase security for the applications we use at Intermountain. With an ever increasing number of cyberattacks against hospitals and health providers, the FBI and other enforcement agencies highly recommend 2-Step verification for external access to Intermountain resources.
